Jewish Farm School Featured in CBS News Special

June 14, 2011

Jewish Farm School was recently featured in the CBS News Special “Stewards of the Earth: One Planet, Many Faiths”, which examined the ways members of different faith communities are caring for the environment. The original television broadcast was Sunday, June 12, 2011, on the CBS Television Network.

The special featured the Jewish Farm School, based at Eden Village Camp, in Putnam Valley, NY, an environmental organization whose mission is to practice and promote sustainable agriculture using methods based on Jewish traditions. The school’s co-founders, Nati Passow (JVG Fellow) and Simcha Schwartz, talked about how they are empowering future generations to see food as a vehicle for social and environmental justice, and how the school offers educational opportunities through farm-based service learning experiences in New York and across the United States.
